Genesee County Health Department to Hold Additional Flu Clinic For Specially Qualified Children

The Genesee County Health Department will be holding an additional flu clinic on Saturday, December 13, 2003 . Note that only two groups of children are eligible to receive the vaccine.

Clinic Location

· Genesee County Health Department (Burton Branch) G-3373 S. Saginaw , Flint Saturday, December 13th, 9am-12pm (clinic may close earlier if vaccine runs out)

Only two groups of children qualify to receive the vaccine:

1) Children 4 -18 years old who qualify for federally funded vaccine: these are children enrolled in Medicaid, American Indians & Alaskan Natives, uninsured children and under-insured children whose insurance has no coverage for vaccinations,

2)Children 4-18 years of age who have high risk factors such as: heart disease, kidney disease, lung disease, metabolic disease such as diabetes, asthma, anemia and other blood disorders or children with a weakened immune system due to HIV/AIDS or another disease that affects the immune system, long‑term treatment with drugs such as steroids, cancer treatment with x-rays or drugs regardless of insurance status.

The cost of the vaccine will be an $11.00 administrative fee or a valid Medicaid card.
