                Genesee County Health Department to Hold Additional            Flu Clinic For Specially Qualified  

The Genesee County Health Department will be holding an additional flu clinic on Thursday, December 18, 2003 .  Note that only two groups of children are eligible to receive the vaccine. The following location and time has been set up:

·        Genesee County Health Department                       (McCree North) 
115 East
Pierson Road Flint 
Thursday, December 18th  1:00pm-3:00pm
(clinic may close earlier if  vaccine runs out)

Only two groups of children qualify to receive the vaccine:                       1) Children 6-35 months of age who qualify for federally funded vaccine: these are children enrolled in Medicaid, American Indians & Alaskan Natives, uninsured children and under-insured children whose insurance has no coverage for vaccinations,  or

2) Children 6 months - 18 years of age who have high risk factors such as:  heart disease, kidney disease, lung disease, metabolic disease such as diabetes, asthma, anemia and other blood disorders or children with a weakened immune system due to HIV/AIDS or another disease that affects the immune system, long-term treatment with drugs such as steroids, cancer treatment with x-rays or drugs regardless of insurance status. 

The cost of the vaccine will be an $11.00 administrative fee.
