RE:
Second Round of Tuberculosis testing done at
Flint Central High School
The Genesee County Health Department (GCHD)
conducted a second round of tuberculin skin testing at Flint Central High
School on Monday, April 2. This was done to test those people who were
unable to be tested on the first date of skin testing, Tuesday, March 27. A total of 92 people have been
tested during the two different testing dates. No
additional disease has been identified.
Re-testing will occur in May for close contacts.
Close contacts are defined as people that were in close proximity to the
infected person over a long period of time and within an enclosed space,
such as a classroom. Additional results from this
investigation will not be available until that time.
Skin testing is done to identify people who
may have been exposed to a case of tuberculosis.
