Community Clinics
Announced for 2010-2011 School Immunization Requirements
New school immunization requirements are going into effect in Michigan for
the upcoming school year. McLaren Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Davison, in
collaboration with the Genesee Intermediate School District and the Genesee
County Health Department, will be providing community clinics to help
school-aged children who are unable to receive immunizations from their
health care provider, meet these new guidelines. The following is a list of
clinics that are currently scheduled:
o
Grand Blanc East Middle School -
August 24, 2010
o
Mt. Morris High School - August 25,
2010
o
Carman Ainsworth Middle School -
August 30, 2010
o
Hahn Middle School, Davison -
September 1, 2010
More detailed information regarding these clinics
and the new requirements is located on our website at
www.gchd.us.
The Genesee County Health Department strongly
recommends that you contact your child’s health care provider immediately to
ensure that your child is up to date on his or her immunizations before
school begins. Children in kindergarten, 6th grade, and those
entering a new school district for the first time can be excluded from
school if they have not received the required vaccines. Waiting until the
end of August when there is a high demand for vaccinations may cause delays
in scheduling appointments at your provider’s office and result in missed
days of school for your child.
