RE: Special Immunization Clinics for the 2011-2012 School Year

In anticipation of high demand for vaccinations due to immunization requirements for school entry, the Genesee County Health Department strongly recommends that you contact your child’s health care provider immediately to ensure that your child is up to date on his or her immunizations before school begins. Children in kindergarten, 6th grade, and those entering a new school district for the first time can be excluded from school if they have not received the required vaccinations. Waiting until the end of August when demand for vaccinations is high may cause delays in scheduling appointments at your provider’s office due and result in missed days of school for your child.

McLaren Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Davison, in collaboration with the Genesee Intermediate School District and the Genesee County Health Department, will once again be providing community clinics to assist in meeting this demand.  The following is a list of clinics that are currently scheduled:

·         Flushing - Central Elementary School, Thursday, August 18, 2011

·         Grand Blanc West Middle School, Monday, August 22, 2011

·         Grand Blanc East Middle School, Tuesday, August 23, 2011

·         Carman Ainsworth Middle School, Tuesday, August 23, 2011

·         Atherton Middle School, Wednesday, August 24, 2011
