End
The Proposed Changes to the Genesee County Environmental Health Regulations,
Chapter VI, Page 24, Section 6.002 Available Sanitary Sewer and Section 6.015
Sewer.
The current language reads in Chapter VI, "Section 6.002 AVAILABLE
SANITARY SEWER - If a sanitary sewer is within three hundred (300) feet of any
part of a premises, then the sewer is considered available to that premises for
the disposal of sewage."
This amendment will change the wording to: "Section 6.002 Available
Sanitary Sewer – Means a sanitary sewer located within three hundred (300)
feet of any part of a premise into which the local governmental entity that
controls the sanitary sewer will allow connection." The intent of this
change is to forgo the variance process when the sanitary sewer can not be
tapped.
A second amendment will change current language which reads in Chapter VI Section
6.015 SEWER, "Means a water-tight conduit for carrying
sewage." to "Means a water-tight conduit,
that is designed to receive sewage tap in connections."
The intent of this change is to forgo the variance process
for sewer lines that are pressurized or otherwise not
designed to be tapped into."
